Pinterest home diy

As a real estate agent, I spent a lot of time looking at homes. There are so many things you can do to add some pizzazz to your home without spending a lot of money.

Pinterest offers some great inspiration for DIYers.

Here are 3 ways to make things for your home that will look better than what you can buy at stores.

I love this idea. If I was doing this, I would pick do orange, brown and yellow for fall. Another set of green and red for Christmas. Silver would be great for New Year’s. Pastels for spring.

You get the idea.

Candles and sand reminds me of vacations and spas.

Stop by your nearest thrift store or dollar store and pick up some unique glass jars or vases. Then grab a bag of sand from the garden center or hardware store (or maybe some rice). Add a candle to each jar and stick them on your master bathroom counter for ambiance without worrying about starting a fire.

I’m not one to put a lot of magnets on my refrigerator, but I could see putting these cork magnets up.

Even better, I love the idea of using these magnets on a DIY blackboard…something like a metal cookie sheet painted with blackboard paint, framed and hung on the wall. It would be a great way to post notes for your loved ones, telephone messages or your menu for the week.

Have you ever made something for your home?
