Bryce, a lab mix puppy looking for a forever home

Last weekend, I attended an adoption event at Purina Farms and met a wonderful puppy named Bryce.

Keep in mind that this event was massive. There were tons of people walking by constantly, and hundreds of dogs of all breeds and sizes. Bryce was absolutely wonderful with all of them. He was thrilled when anyone stopped by to pet him and he got a kick out of the kids who wanted to play with him.

Bryce is living with Gateway Pet Guardian’s executive director and her family until we find a forever home for him. Jamie says that Bryce loves to snuggle on the couch and follow you everywhere. He loves playing with the other dogs in his home (boys and a girl), and hanging out on the couch with Jamie and her husband when they are watching TV. And while he does enjoy playing with the other dogs, if it was up to him, he would be snuggled up against them taking a snooze all of the time.

Bryce is 6 months old, but he’s not the typical hyper puppy. He is really mellow while still having lots of energy and likes to play.

PJ found Bryce living in Washington Park (just outside East St. Louis) when she went out on her daily route to feed the strays.

He had a bad case of mange, a non-contagious skin condition that is common in puppies which makes them lose some of their fur. Bryce had an extreme case, and had lost almost all of his fur when PJ rescued him. After two rounds of medicine, his fur is growing back fast. He looks great now but will be even more handsome when all of his fur is back (which will be soon!).

Bryce is potty trained, crate trained and is learning commands like ‘sit’. He is very treat motivated which will make it really easy to teach him commands and tricks.

Bryce just loves everyone he meets, including kids. After a long day at Pet-a-Palooza at Purina Farms, Jamie took Bryce to a 2nd event that same day, Music for Mutts. At this event, he let a baby sit with him, and Jamie captured it on video.

Bryce is neutered, up to date on shots and on heartworm preventative. His adoption fee is $150. To meet Bryce, fill out an adoption application…there is no obligation at this point, but we need an application before we arrange meet ups with dogs and potential adopters.

If you don’t live in St. Louis, that’s ok. But we’ll probably want you to travel to St. Louis to meet him before the adoption is finalized.

If you know someone who might like to adopt Bryce, please pass this on! We want to get Bryce into a forever home soon!
